We started working for Royal Town Planning Institute in Oct 2021 on the refurbishment of their Botolph Lane offices. The property sits within the Eastcheap conservation area, with the building dating from the 19th century. Several refurbishments, mostly cosmetic had been undertaken in the last 60 years, but the building was tired and not a reflection of the RTPI brand values. With a tight budget, further value engineering and a complex approval process the project needed a cohesive team approach.
The refurbishment has enabled RTPI to maximise the value of their property; with new windows, services and plant, the building is now Part L compliant with a much improved energy rating. Through reconfiguring lift lobbies and upgrading the lift and reception access the whole building is now Part M compliant and wheelchair accessible.
A simple Cat B fit-out provides modern spaces for both the RTPI and its members to work, meet and socialise.
