Following an RFP and a design pitch process Shaw Studios were appointed to assist with the delivery of a new office for this International Bank. The new office building and floor had already been selected and our brief was to deliver client and staff accommodation befitting of an international financial company.

With the size of the office, no dedicated reception space was required although meeting rooms of varying sizes for clients were needed. The challenge on space lead to some creative planning to ensure the office areas were not comprised and would accommodate the required growth. An inbound meeting room clad in timber provides a focal point to the meeting suite whilst maximising the use of space. The main boardroom whilst mostly used for around 14 people was required to accommodate up to 25 people every quarter. This was done by including a built-in bench seat rather than using valuable space for a larger table.

The client was keen to provide somewhere for the whole office to meet/socialise at lunchtimes, this was provided in an enlarged tea point with built-in banquette seating and high bench seating utilising some of the client’s existing furniture.

The open plan office space remains extremely neutral with standardised desking and the high levels of storage accommodated in store wall, again to maximise the feeling of space and light.

Shaw Studios were novated to the main contractor through the construction phase to provide the level of detail information that enabled the design and quality of build to be maintained in the final fit-out.
