Shaw Studios were appointed initially to support IFM Investors in the definition of a high level operational brief and model for new working practices in advance of their property search. IFM Investors had outgrown their space in Gresham Street and had a plan for consistent and large scale growth over the next 5-10 year period.
Shaw Studios ran a series of workshop sessions consulting across the organisation with a broad spectrum of employees. Outcomes resulted in the development of a vision and key requirements brief that set out technical, quantitative, and qualitative requirements for the new space. We then supported the client in the search for the right space, defining how this could be best utilised, reporting on the practicalities of fit-out in each building and being mindful of the flexibility needed to enable the day 1 needs working towards the future day 2 headcount.
The strong working relationship built through this process saw our appointment extended to develop concept designs in preparation for IFM procurement via a design and build contract. Shaw Studios post contractor appointment continued to work closely with the Project team of Wheelers and IFM project management to monitor the fit-out and oversee the installation of furniture.
The day 2 headcount was fulfilled quicker than anticipated as such the design and fit-out of the remainder of space was accelerated and completed in September 2020.
Staff and visitors have been delighted by the new space that offers flexible meeting rooms, social spaces and integrated technology to support the nature of their global organisation.
